Who are your ideal clients?
Our clients include adults living in New York or Vermont struggling with trauma, interpersonal challenges & attachment, mood dysregulation or any life transitions. If you struggle with understanding your emotional attachment, coping effectively, self-sabotaging behaviors, setting boundaries, expressing & regulating emotions (plus more), we may work well together in the therapeutic space.
Folks seeking healthier relationships, a better understanding of their identity, or coping skills for life stressors - I can provide a space for you to express freely while offering challenging perspectives, skills in regulating emotions, boundary exploration, and comforting validation in difficult times.
-
How should I prepare for my first session?
Make sure you are in a space where you can speak freely without interruption and sit comfortably. You may want to think about your reasons for seeking therapy and what you hope to get out of therapy.
Also, have a reliable WiFi connection, the link to our session pulled up, tissues, water, or anything else that makes you feel comfortable.

What are the options for payment?
We are in-network with limited insurance companies. We offer sliding scale options or services Mentaya, a platform that helps clients get money back on out-of-network therapy sessions. If you have out-of-network benefits, Mentaya will file claims and handle the insurance paperwork to make sure you get reimbursed. They charge a 5% fee per claim and have helped people get thousands of dollars back per year.
Please note, Mentaya's goal is to save you time and money. It's completely optional, and as your therapist we do not benefit in any way from your participation. Please reach out with any questions, we are happy to work with you to keep therapy affordable.

What is the difference between therapy & coaching service?
In the therapeutic space we dive deeper into your past experiences, exploring how those experiences inform your present life and future goals.
In lifestyle coaching sessions, we focus on the present, your goals, and create a pathway for you to obtain those goals.
An easy way to remember the difference is therapy dives deep into the past and coaching remains in the present!

Do you assign assignments or readings in-between sessions?
We can assign things to do outside of session, if that is something you are searching for. This can be in any form that works best for you. We can provide handouts and worksheets, book recommendations, journal prompts, behavior change activities to engage in, etc. Both we will discuss how the homework or activity went, exploring your thoughts, feelings, and interpretations.
There are 168 hours in a week and we meet for only ONE of those hours each week. Most of your healing happens outside the therapy space, where you apply the skills you learned and explored in session.
-
How long is each therapy session?
Our sessions are for 45-50 minutes and are held virtually.
-
What types of therapy are you trained in?
After obtaining my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, I received my Master's Degree in Forensic Mental Health Counseling. During my Master's Degree, I completed trainings in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
During my post-Graduate training I’ve completed trainings in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy.
-
Where did you work before going into private practice?
Before working in private practice, I completed a fellowship working in a non-profit with the Queens County Criminal Court advocating for proper mental health treatment for those who were incarcerated and experienced mental health illness.
Working in the social & criminal justice system has greatly shaped my perspectives around the social, racial, and mental health injustices our communities face.
These are areas I deeply care about, and a goal of mine is to find a balance between my passion for private practice and social justice work.

How do I know if therapy is ending or if I should explore more?
Length in therapy looks different for everyone! I've seen clients for various amounts of time during my time as a therapist. If you decide you'd like to leave our therapeutic space, you and I will explore the work we completed together and the growth you obtained in your healing.
